Registered Kids Receive 2 FREE GAMES Of Bowling Every Day All Summer Long, Valued At Over $500 Per Child!

Select bowling centers and schools around the country are participating in the first ever Kids Bowl Free program. This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer.

Children whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long, courtesy of the participating bowling centers along with the schools and organizations.

Nature Connects: Art with LEGO® Bricks

Just as individual LEGO bricks fit together to create amazing things, nature is filled with fascinating and delicate relationships that connect to form the wondrous world around us. The Botanical Garden invites guests young and old to explore the fascinating stories behind these relationships and more at Nature Connects: Art with LEGO® Bricks, special to the Garden this summer only!

Families can learn about and discover the interconnections in nature through daily interactive experiences and special programs including encounters with 13 astounding LEGO brick sculptures depicting plants, animals, and people, designed and built by artist Sean Kenney. Other exhibit features include:

  • Hands-on activities related to each display
  • LEGO sculptures created by local residents
  • Build-your-own sculpture at the stay and play LEGO Station
  • Scavenger hunts for live insects

Professional Chef Instructor, Amee Hoge, graduated of the French Culinary Institute, NYC, is excited to be partnering with the City of Avon Lake for a super-fun, culinary camp for kids, ages 6-12 years.  Young chefs will be learning kitchen safety, proper knife skills, how to be creative cupcake decorators, and more! Learn recipes from Amee’s travels in Tuscany, how to make a fun picnic on the beach, or delicious after-school recipes like pepperoni pizza quesadillas!

Hip Hop Experience with Youth Challenge

Description: 

With artistic direction from Twelve Literary and Performing Arts Incubator, “The Youth Challenge Hip Hop Experience” showcases the creative arts of Hip Hop culture created by YC’s kids and teen volunteers. Visual art, adaptive dance, spoken word, and emcee artistry are on display at Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art, Saturday, May 20, 1-4pm. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Founded in 1976 during the formative decade of Hip Hop Culture, Youth Challenge brings together young people with physical disabilities and teen volunteers who inspire each other through adapted sports, recreation and social growth activities.

 

The Youth Challenge Hip Hop Experience is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.

Babies are welcome! In fact, you need a baby in tow if you want to join this group. Join us the second or third Wednesday of each month for a casual and lively discussion led by a museum educator in the galleries—just for parents and caregivers and their pre-toddler-age (18 months and younger) children. Expect a special kind of outing that allows for adult conversation where no one minds if a baby lends his or her opinion with a coo or a cry.
